في بداية فصل الصوم وجّه أمين عام السينودس الإنجيلي الوطني القس جوزيف قصاب كلمة الى المؤمنين جاء فيها:
للكنيسة روزنامة، كما الروزنامة العادية لديها فصول كنسية ومناسبات وأعياد على مدار السنة. وتمثّل الروزنامة الكنسية محطاتٍ في حياة يسوع تبدأ بفصل المجيء وتنتهي بالروح القدس.
“لأَعْرِفَهُ، وَقُوَّةَ قِيَامَتِهِ، وَشَرِكَةَ آلاَمِهِ، مُتَشَبِّهًا بِمَوْتِهِ” – فيلبي 3: 10
نعيش اليوم، بدايات فصل الصوم – وإن اختلفت ممارساته وفرائضه بين الكنائس، إلا أنها رحلة حياة يسوع التي ترافقها الكنيسة بالصلاة والعبادة متوقعةً أن تصبح حياته حياتنا.
كثيرون ينظرون الى الصوم على أنه امتحان علينا أن نجتازه أو دورة من أربعين يوماً من العوائق الروحية والجسدية علينا تحملها والتغلب عليها.
إذا كان الصوم يعني إنجازنا لأمر ما أو شيء نقوم به بدلاً من شيءٍ يقوم فينا عندها يصبح فصل الصوم احتفال بقدرتنا وقوتنا.
وفي الختام سأل: ماذا يعني لنا فصل الصوم؟ الامتناع عن الشوكولا لأربعين يوماً؟ أو الكحول؟ أو الامتناع عن الطعام لساعات؟
الجواب: قد تكون هذه أمور إيجابية… لكنها ليست جوهرية.
ففصل الصوم هو فصل التجديد الروحي وفرصة للتوبة ولمواجهة التحديات على المستوى الشخصي والحياتي والعام، على مثال جوهر قصة تجارب يسوع في البرية.
ودعا الى أن يفتش كل واحد عن بريتَهُ متمنياً للجميع فصل صوم مبارك.
