Rev. Joseph Kassab, General Secretary of the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon, visited the border village of Alma Al-Shaab, where he joined the local congregation in worship at the National Evangelical Church. The service was marked by a strong spirit of unity and fellowship, bringing together believers in a heartfelt gathering.
This visit expressed the Synod’s concern and commitment to standing with its people during difficult times. Rev. Kassab delivered a spiritual sermon filled with words of comfort and hope, encouraging the congregation to remain steadfast in faith amid the challenges and hardships they face.
Following the service, Rev. Kassab met with members of the congregation in the church hall, where a warm and friendly atmosphere prevailed, and heartfelt conversations were exchanged.
During the occasion, the Municipality of Alma Al-Shaab honored Rev. Kassab with a commemorative plaque, in appreciation of the Synod’s ongoing support for the village and its people, and in recognition of a genuine love reflected in tangible acts of solidarity.
The visit concluded with a field tour alongside the church’s elder, where the devastating impact of the recent war was clearly visible in the village streets. It was a painful scene that revealed the depth of suffering, yet also underscored the urgent need for continued pastoral presence and increased spiritual and humanitarian support.
Thus, the Evangelical Church in Alma Al-Shaab remains a beacon of hope amid darkness—a living testimony to the power of faith that continues to shine in hearts despite the harshest of circumstances.
